[A] Budget: Looking for Proposals
[B] Scope of Service:
Vendor needs to provide exhaust recovery system.
1. Provide a solution to recover exhaust of fire trucks and ambulances housed in the bay area. A magnet system is required and no others will be considered.
2. Contractor will provide and install a new “turnkey” system to accomplish satisfactory recovery of exhaust. Solutions must use readily available products, timely installation, cost effective and warranty.
1. Equipment: All equipment shall be supplied by a single manufacturer, which specializes in fabricating vehicle exhaust removal systems, as follows:
- Main ductwork: furnish and install main ductwork of 24 gauge galvanized steel in the sizes and at the locations indicated on the Mechanical Drawings.
- General: The size of the exhaust fan motor, hose diameter, and hose temperature rating shall be appropriate for the individual application and location. All required accessories and mounting hardware to provide a complete system shall be supplied. Exhaust fan motor, fixed ducts, and motor operated hose reels shall be installed at locations shown on the Drawings.
2. Installation: Install equipment in strict accordance with the approved shop drawings and manufacturers installation instructions.
- Contractor is responsible for coordinating the installation of the equipment. All parts, brackets, utilities, ducts, etc., necessary for a complete installation of the equipment shall be supplied as part of the Contract.
- Coordinate with the structural drawing for the mounting brackets, mounting details and roof penetrations
3. Testing: The Contractor will perform an equipment inspection prior to final acceptance that will consist of checking every component for conformance with the specifications. The operation of the complete system, fan motor, hose, nozzle, cane and pendant shall be witnessed by the Owner. The air flow requirement shall be demonstrated to the Owner to verify that minimum air flow requirements have been provided.
4. Detailed Submittal: Contractors must submit a factory detailed sheet with their bid listing all standard equipment and the optional equipment listed above for the vehicle exhaust removal system as specified above. Vendors are to include all costs associated with each detailed item on this sheet. This is to ensure all vehicles are bid as specified.
5. Manuals: The successful bidder shall furnish all owners and operator’s manuals for the vehicle exhaust removal system.
6. User Training: The successful bidder shall be required to provide on-site training to City of Bartlett Fire Department personnel at no cost. This training shall include, but not be limited to, the proper use of the equipment, proper upkeep of the equipment, troubleshooting and repair if needed. The training shall continue until a level of competency is achieved, as determined by the City, for individuals charged with supporting and maintaining the equipment.
7. Warranty: All vendors must state the warranty for the vehicle exhaust removal system, in days, and shall promptly replace or repair defective material, parts, workmanship and/or inadequate design at no cost to the City during the warranty period
