[A] Budget: Looking for Proposal
[B] Scope of Service:
(1) Vendor needs to provide tax consulting services to identify any individual or business taxpayer whose situs code is within Knox County with tax collections reported to another jurisdiction due to error or omission to the government authority located in Knoxville, TN.
- Prepare correspondence for county to request financial reports to be audited.
- Audit situs financial reports to verify proper allocation of tax collections due to county.
- Prepare a report with recommendations for county finance representatives of tax collections not accurately reported to county due to error or omission.
- Prepare written correspondence for county to request the department of revenue to initiate verification of report recommendations.
- Tabulate report results and tax collections adjusted to county.
- Request for reports and communication of audit recommendations must be authorized by the county senior director of finance (or his designee). The successful contractor may be authorized by county to initiate the future audit of financial reports for other income sources, which should be properly reported to county.
- The contractor will prepare a report with detailed recommendations for the recovery of tax collections owed to county. The report will provide proper identification of tax sources for review and approval by county and subsequent verification by agency and third parties.
(2) All questions must be submitted no later than April 7, 2020.
